Martial arts students shine at National Grading and UK Tournament!

A team of dedicated martial arts students from Kuk Sool Won™ of Yeovil martial arts hit the road and travelled to Liverpool at the end of November 2023 to participate in a national grading and UK tournament.

 

Amy Horwood, Suran Chatterjee, Eashan Banerjee, Shubhangee Das and Harrison Jones recently participated in a prestigious national grading, showcasing their skills and dedication to Kuk Sool Won™. Each student has trained tirelessly to demonstrate their proficiency in various techniques, forms, weapons and sparring drills. Their determination and discipline paid off as they all students successfully passed their final test towards their black belts! It is a testament to their hard work and the excellent guidance provided by the dedicated instructors of Kuk Sool Won™ of Yeovil martial arts.  Special mention to Amy Horwood who achieved her second degree black belt.

 

They were also joined by Eleanor Thurston who completed her first national grading towards second degree black belt. 

 

After the national grading came the UK tournament with the largest number of competitors to date from the Yeovil school participating.  Competing was Eashan Banerjee, Shubhangee Das, Julian Elshetwy, Daisy Gledhill, Violet Gledhill, Wilbur Higgins, Amy Horwood,  Bethany Jones, Harrison Jones, Sally Runnacles, Henry Silsby, George Tavener and Eleanor Thurston also showcased their skills on an international platform at the UK tournament, and they truly shone! Competing against top martial artists from across Europe, they brought home an impressive collection of medals, securing an astounding 17 medals across different age categories and disciplines. It’s a testament to the unwavering spirit and dedication of these martial arts students, who demonstrated exceptional technique, agility, and mental fortitude throughout the competition.  


The national grading and UK tournament have been an incredible journey for the students of Kuk Sool Won™ of Yeovil martial arts. Their hard work, perseverance, and passion have elevated the martial arts school’s reputation.
