The 2024 Kuk Sool Won™ of Yeovil martial arts Awards Ceremony, held at Odcombe Village Hall, was a fantastic celebration of the school’s students and their martial arts accomplishments over the past year. The event’s main purpose was to honour the dedication, perseverance, and growth of the students in 2024, providing a platform to celebrate both individual and collective success.
The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with a great turnout that saw both formal awards and socializing. After the awards ceremony, the event transformed into a fun and family-friendly gathering with a disco, providing an opportunity for students, parents, and instructors to bond and enjoy the evening together.
There were 15 award categories, each designed to celebrate different aspects of martial arts practice. Standout categories included the “Overcoming Adversity” award, which recognised an anxious mother who conquered her nerves to compete in a martial arts tournament. The “Best Etiquette” award, which highlighted respect—one of the core values of Kuk Sool Won™ was also a notable moment, as well as the “Positive Attitude” award, presented to a student who consistently wears a smile and brings a cheerful energy to training.
A memorable highlight of the event was the overwhelming sense of support from everyone involved. Families came together to celebrate their loved ones’ achievements, creating a heartwarming and inclusive atmosphere that was truly reflective of the school’s close-knit community. It was clear that the Kuk Sool Won™ family spirit was alive and well.
Students and their families played a vital role in the success of the event, helping with everything from setting up to ensuring the ceremony ran smoothly. The event had music and a disco provided by Britelites Disco, adding to the lively and joyful atmosphere.
